Microsoft Project Management Training

As the need for project management courses is becoming more and more prevalent, quite a number of courses with more up-to-date training are being offered. Global Knowledge, the leader in information technology instruction, for example, has recently opened project management courses that feature Microsoft Office Project product training. These courses are expected to provide managers with the project management knowledge they need to compete in this IT-driven industry.

About Global Knowledge

Global Knowledge, the company offering the new Microsoft project management courses, offers its IT courses via training centers, the Web, and private venues. Having a variety of learning environment choices has allowed Global Knowledge to give its customers to freedom to choose when and where they want to learn.

The company currently offers more than 700 courses on a wide variety of topics. Global Knowledge has courses on subjects like IT security, Oracle, networking, and Cisco. Global Knowledge is based in North Carolina, but has training centers in countries all over the world, from the US to France to Singapore.

About Microsoft Office Project products

Microsoft’s project management applications, Microsoft Office Project and Microsoft Office Project Server, are a part of the Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management software solution. Microsoft Office Project has been touted as top-of-the-line project management software. It is used to assist managers in creating project plans, managing resources, and keeping track of project progress. Microsoft Office Project Server allows project teams to collaborate on project plans and effectively manage their work.

All about the courses

The new project management courses being offered by Global Knowledge are called “Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007” and “Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007.” Each course lasts four days and has a total load of 40 Professional Development Units (PDUs). The project management courses are also offered over a three-day period, with a total load of 18 PDUs.

Upon completing each project management course, students can earn Microsoft certification. In the Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007 course, students receive Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification for Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project 2007 upon passing the exam. Certification for Enterprise Product Management with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 can be attained by passing the Managing Projects with Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 boot camp. These two certifications that can be acquired through Global Management’s new project management courses have been approved by the Project Management Institute.

In these project management courses, students will learn how to go through all of the project management steps – initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing – and use Microsoft Office Project 2007 and Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 to facilitate the entire process. More specifically, the courses will teach concepts such as how to create and define project goals, how to make accurate project estimations, and how to generate useful project reports. The project management courses involve a wide range of activities, including hands-on exercises and skills training. Students are also given sample tests and drills to prepare them for the certification exams.

    Marketing or Logistics.

The question you should be asking is "What do I love doing?" or "What is my dream job?" and work towards having the experience necessary.

so saving the climate will let us survive without having to do major ass adaption, a low carbon economy will create more jobs and help us get out of the recession and we will be leaving a healthier, more intact planet to future generations! is that bad?!

Can I make a small suggestion?
Repeat the last few seconds of your previous videos with the next one…
It’s really hard to figure out what’s going on…Especially when you have to wait for the video to load, and you forgot how the last video ended…
    Thanks~

The columns represents action or inaction.. the rows represent the uncertainty of the debate “Alarmists being right or skeptics being right.”

Essentially Action is buying insurance, inaction opting out of insurance. Global Warming is the reason your making a choice to buy insurance or not..

The economic harm is the cost of the insurance.. The only Jedi Mind Trick is Greg implying that it wouldn’t cost money for insurance.

i have something else to add:
is it bad to conserve resources for future generations? even if global warming isn’t real, why should we leave a polluted, resourceless hunk of rock for our kids? climate change is real, (and we have solid, real proof that we are causing it), so we should have some moral and ethical considerations to save the huge amount of species here on earth, BUT we should think about our own KIDS.

Not for nothing but the current growth in GDP is ~2.9% which would mean a total halt in economic growth.. During the Great Depression there was stagnant growth of around 1.7% (3% is $2.7 Trillion)

Also its no Jedi Mind Trick.. the columns represent the certainties… the rows are the variables.. which is why the economic harm is a certainty and global warming is still a variable.

    You should know that.

First of all, be sure you can use a font or eliminate words to make sure you can fit it on two pages, most. For your level of experience, that would be sufficient, where one page would be too cramped and actually difficult to read. You can eliminate redundancies such as "References available on request" if they are spilling onto a third page. (Can't tell on yahoo)

When you finish your resume, take care to use consistency with heading sections with ALL CAPS (e.g., Objective isn't, but Education is) Not sure why OFFICE EXPERIENCE (respelled) and OFFICE ENVIRONMENT are all caps. Use your starting date on your current position, to make it look like your other jobs. Either spell out the months or abbreviate but be consistent. Use capitalization and lower case consistently. (e.g., "Mail"?)

My personal opinion is there are too many categories (4) before the actual work experience, but that the content is very valuable. Could you move the computer skills below the experience? Could you combine Strengths and Accomplishments (maybe not but worth a look)?

For the Objective, could you make it more "active" than you would like to apply for a job, e.g., Objective: Executive position in Technical Support and Customer Relations in the ____ industry. Even better, maybe you call it a Summary and you describe what you're bringing to the table. I am not sure that customer service and tech support even has any executive level positions? is what you are looking for to be the manager of a support dept? If so, say so. You might be mixing up your Canadian terminology with American. Have an American in your industry to review your revised resume before submitting it.

Please use spell check on your resume before sending it to anyone else.

Your experience *should* speak for itself, but when there are sloppy spellings, etc. in a resume, an employer is going to ask, where else is her attention to detail lax?

I have created a simple, but useful page, which has all the links to this series of videos listed in the correct order.

The site name is of the standard format with the usual (US) extension after the dot. The site name is then followed by a forward slash and the name of the page, so the first word is my site name and the second bit is the page name (but you need to put D O T h t m on the end).
